Besides playing squash and being an avid member of Haverford’s fishing society, Alex Spiliotes (HC ’12) has a serious obsession with sneakers. His favorites include a pair of Nike Air Raid Urban Jungle sneakers, which he saw as he walked by a Foot Locker one day and knew immediately that he had to have that tribal print all over his feet. Another is a pair of Nike Dunk SB Low Piet Mondrian’s, which his sister surprised him with for his birthday.
“They are very colorful,” says Alex, “I like showing a lot of color when I’m dressing. I like that there’s not too much going on with the shoes, but that there’s this little bit of design, there’s this great combination of colors.”
For Alex, the best part about his sneakers is their versatility. “I have a lot of colorful shirts and these shoes have a lot of shirts that they can match with. They don’t limit me in what I can wear,” he says. When asked if he wears any other shoes, he says, “I have a couple of Sperry’s and New Balances, but they’re not as fly.” Agreed.
